I was in a Japanese Safeway supermarket (the logo was still the same as the original but accompanied by Kana characters) that covered a massive area of land. There was a sea of neatly organized boxes which were stacked to the ceiling. The boxes varied in size yet they had a clear plastic screen on one of the bigger sides in order to reveal its contents. Each black box housed miniature (kid-sized) kitchen supplies made of Porcelain (It's weird that ceramic material is recurring; some boxes contained a small tea set, others held tiny frying pans, chopsticks with containers, cutlery sets etc. Both Bubsy and Bartie entered the scene and began helping me look for wasabi cookies. I doubt that there is such a thing as wasabi cookies but I think it made an appearance in the dream because Sarah and I were looking at wasabi peas at the supermarket the other day. What now strikes me as odd is that Bubsy was communicating with the employees at the supermarket in Japanese. Even though I could not translate what they were saying, I managed to understand the gist of their conversation. Unforutnately, I can't quite remember what the conversation was about. After following the kind woman's directions, we stumbled upon the wasabi cookies. The packaging did not look anything like the picture but you get the idea. Bubsy and Bartie were satisfied with their finding and decided to crack open a bag for a taste. After attempting one of the cookies, I couldn't stand the taste and left the two to finish the bag on their own. I began to wander through the Japanese Safeway and found myself at the front of the story at an abandoned customer service desk. S-Monster entered the dream and was glancing over the different types of Dorito chips that filled the shelves perpendicular and touching the cashier lines (Now that I think about it, there was no rational way to get to the cashiers for checkout). I told S-Monster that I didn't want to buy a bag of chips because they were too expensive. She decided to hop

When I woke up the next morning there was a puddle of saliva on my bed. I must have been hungry after all. Arigato gozaimas! Good night folks.

The picture you have there is not wasabi flavour. It's matcha.
ReplyDeleteCompared to the first dream, where each scene definitely had their own fantastic richness, this dream lacks everything a dream needs to have in order to be a genuine dream. We use expressions like "I dream of becoming ___!" But no one dreams of being lost in a Japanese supermarket and end up trying out some gross cookies.
Speaking of wasabi cookies, in reality, I won't be able to finish such gross material either. Wasabi, sugar, and butter? It's a threefold contradiction! It's so fearful, I cannot help but tremble. Perhaps I might get sick, which might even lead to my death.
Sorry about the last, lame pun. Let us know if you have any more dreams, dreams are always awesome. Dreams hurl psychologists into tidal waves of ecstasy. But I'm no psychologist, I'm just a character in a dream.
Bubsy must really have been studying his japanese. Maybe it was a futuristic dream where Bubsy has studied japanese and learned it.
ReplyDeleteBartie? what does that stand for?
To the Kid, Bartie stands for a who. Not a what.
ReplyDeleteTo Bartie, one cannot say that "No one dreams of being...." Because that is already a contradiction b/c I, Soren have dreamt such a dream. I surpassed the universal which says that dreams like this can never occur.
Ok enough nonsense but the dream was real.
S monster is pretty cool.
ReplyDeletewe take life by the handles, trying this "mystery flavour" even though it could have potentially killed us.
what does this mean? that we are willing to take the risk...
but the outcome?
grossness.
hahah
i digress,
s-monster is pretty awesometown.
why do i even read this blog?
ReplyDeletei never understand anything.
hahaha
your vivid recollection of events in the dream world is very impressive. i wish i can remember mine like that. by the way, you should try a dream analyzer to see what in the world your subconscious is trying to tell you. sounds bogus but it's cool.
