Shalom,
It's my dad's birthday this coming Sunday. I asked him what he wanted for his birthday present and he initially requested for a stand for his bongos. I went searching for a his stand the last couple of weeks but wasn't able to find anything in any of the major music stores. On my way home day I stumbled upon a local music shop somewhere along the B-Line route. Luckily, they carried the stand that I was looking for; unfortunately, it was $90! What a rip off. I asked my friend from Michigan (he actually plays serious percussion) if it was practical to buy one and he replied that it was a hassle to attach and remove the bongos from the stand each time. Ergo, I decided not to purchase the product and ask my dad if he really wanted it and explained to him the difficulties that came along with it. He concluded that, for his birthday present, he wanted help setting up his new fish tank.
As an early birthday present, my dad bought himself a 55gallon fish tank which he upgraded from the 38gallon we originally had. We set up the fish tank last night which started from 11 30pm and ended past 2 am. It was a very long process which consisted of draining the water into several large buckets, fishing out all the fish into a cooler, removing all the plants and gravel, then moving the original stand and case to make room for the new one. Although it doesn't sound like much work, the process was very time consuming and by the time we were finished, I was dozing off.
Since I don't have class on Fridays, I decided to not set my alarm clock to allow myself to make up for the sleep and rest that I lost during the week. This plan for rest ended up backfiring and giving me a strong cardio workout. My schedule for today was to meet my friend Gabe for a music practice at 2 then head over to the university at 5 to meet Kenneth for dinner.
Today started pretty badly since I woke up 1 30. I only had half an hour to get to my friend's house yet had to have lunch and shower first. I checked the bus schedule on the trans-link (a very helpful site) and was informed that my bus was coming in a little over half an hour. I showered quickly and headed downstairs to find a very unhealthy meal in the fridge waiting for me. Although deep friend calamari tastes great, it is the oiliest meal ever! By the time i was ready to leave, I realized that I had only 5 mins until the bus arrived. Crap! I ran straight to the bus stop and barely caught bus. This happened once more on my way to the music practice (I had to run another major city block to get there on time).
After a long afternoon of chasing buses I rewarded myself with a delicious, fatty, and filling bowl of Kinaro's Ramen in downtown. Although all my running has been undone, this noodle soup was all worth it. Darn, I think i want another one. I'm going to watch some parks and recreation.
Good Night.
